Edible Paint!

So a few weeks ago I decided to make some "edible paint" for Sophia to have some fun with. It's a very complicated recipe so stay with me....

Ingredients
Plain white yogurt
Food coloring

PS. Next time, it would be a lot easier to get disposable aluminum muffin holders so that it would the clean up easier.

Let the body art begin!

Shew! Wow! What a difficult recipe! I did however figure out, some food coloring only took 1-2 drops to get the true color and some took 5-6, just had to play with it. Sophia LOVED this so much that she painted herself. I did have to keep her from eating her paintbrush that she thought was edible :)

Have a happy day! :)

Crayon Can Holders

Crayon Can Holders!

This idea was given to me from a crafty friend of mine that I like to stalk ;) Pinterest helped too except these are more elaborate than the ones I found on Pinterest. I have no idea what I'm going to use them for because there are so many options: hold plastic utensils for a baby shower, pens, scissors, markers, craft supplies, small baby supplies, etc.

Supplies needed:
28-30 Crayons per Can (mine were green bean cans)
Hot glue
Ribbon
Scissors

Directions:
The project is basically self explanatory. I wrapped the top and bottom of the can with ribbon. Then started hot gluing the crayons. TIP: It's very easy for the crayons to start slanting to the side so every few crayons, I'd stop and make sure they were staying straight.

Side note: Apparently I need baby proofed items...and not just because I have a 10 month old. 2 minutes into making this project and I had already slit my thumb wide open on the inside of the can. If I did that I knew my daughter would too, so I hot glued ribbon along the top inside of the can and it fixed the problem!

CraFTs AnD PrEgGo UpDaTe

The glass jar above is something I made for a friend. I had an empty pickle jar and couldn't figure out what to do with it and then I thought of this! Next time I would use Mod Podge so the jar could get wet if need be but I didn't have so I used a hot glue gun, scrapbook paper, ribbon, and a button there we go! It took 5 mins...it's easy, cute, and can be used for anything! I love the jars that can be used to store pencils, pens, candy, add some stones and put a candle in the middle, seashells, etc. you name it you can do it! :)

The wreath is a project from my other blog entry http://carianddanmarino.blogspot.com/2011/08/fabric-wreath.html  . But I have a different camera now and I thought these photos looked better so I retook the pictures :)

 Pregnancy Update!

First and foremost, I have to say how incredibly blessed I am for my pregnancy and my family. Over the past few months I've learned of several friends that have miscarried, had difficult pregnancies, lost their newborns, or have not been able to get pregnant at all. I am so extremely blessed because I have my pregnancy has started and is going by with ease. Yes I was very sick for about 6 weeks in my first trimester but it is nothing compared to the pain some of my other friends are feeling and I know that I owe my blessings to Heavenly Father. I haven't gained any weight yet but that's okay, my last dr appt the heartbeat was 156, all of my lab work and everything has been normal so far. January 27th, I find out if it is a boy or girl and that's when they do the entire fetal check of heart, lungs, etc.  I feel the "butterflies" often now and I have been able to tell 2X where my baby is in my stomach. Once the baby was crammed into my left rib and the other it was crammed into my right rib. Dan and I are very excited and we can't wait till we can find out what it is and feel the full blown kicks :) My moods are still pretty normal, my friend told me she noticed me "waddling" a little bit, I refuse for that to be the case so early in the pregnancy. I got maternity clothes to fit me now and I love them! Slip on maternity jeans are the best!! I am still LOVING potato chips but I am also loving tuna fish but I have to limit my amount (DARN!). Limiting one of the few things that I am loving stinks tho! Well that's all for now, see ya'll later!

Fabric Wreath

Hello all :) I actually completed this project a while back but am just now getting a chance to blog about it. So here it is! One day I will get me a NICE camera instead of just my old digital one so all of my photos will look better.

How to make this? It's pretty easy...until you get to the rosettes. Cut off strips of fabric according to what length or thickness you like. Mine were about 1" X 12". Only tie them in one knot to save on fabric. After you get the entire wreath covered, start making the rosettes. I am NOT a natural at rosette making and honestly you just have to practice, practice, and practice some more. For my rosettes, I used strips that were pretty thick around 2" X 12" and used super glue for making them. Then use left over material from the wreath to create the small "jewels" in the center of the rosette. Since my wreath is not a flat surface, I first hot glued the rosettes to black felt, cut them out, then attached them to the wreath. Again, my camera does NOT do my wreath justice. It's not the best but for my first time, I think it's down right pretty :)

Fabric Wooden Circles

Hello everyone! So sorry I have been lacking in the blogging area! My time has been spent with family trials and tribulations, moving, hot water tank breaking and flooding our apartment, great times with friends, needed time with family, and I could go on. Well here is my next great idea :) I got this from another blog and I can't remember which one :-/

STEPS:
1. Bought 5 different sized quilt wooden circles with 5 coordinating fabrics
2. IRON fabrics first!
3. Stretch out over the wood circles and close the clasp at the top.
4. Cut off excess material and HOT GLUE the extra material around the inside of the circle to hold the fabric in place.
5. That's all!! :)
I still have another project I'm almost done with so stay tuned :) And I promise to blog more!!

{ Pretty Drawer Liners (MY OWN IDEA!!) }

I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I know my blogging and changing of my blog has been on and off lately but right as I was getting back into the swing of things, Dan and I had to move! Moving was easy, the hard part was that our apartment people didn't clean the apartment so in exchange for discounted rent, I offered to clean it myself. PHEWWWW!! Let's just say the job was A LOT bigger than I had expected and needless to say, the people that lived there before us never cared for or cleaned their home. SOOO!! As I am cleaning the kitchen, I had a TO DO list that included buying contact paper because I wanted my drawers to look pretty. Well our budget was low and we had just spent so much money with the new place that I really couldn't buy anything extra AND we had ugly drawers! Well I do LOVE scrapbooking and sitting on the kitchen table 5 feet from me was all of my scrapbook supplies unpacked. Then it HIT me! I could use SCRAPBOOK PAPER!! We got several sheets of the same paper and just cut them to fit the drawers and put TINY pieces of tape down to hold them and WAHLA! I was so proud of  myself for thinking of this on my own :) I have more blog posting to come so keep an eye out!!

My Wedding Scrapbook Album

It's a year later and I just NOW have to scrapbook our amazing wedding. I do not like procrastinating or getting behind on tasks so now I'm out of school, I'm going full speed trying to catch up on all my hobbies :) So here is a sneak peak...at the rate I'm going, I'll be done in a week or 2. But I'm only posting these photos because if you want to see the rest, you have to come visit us ;) Terrible I know :) For those that live far away, I MIGHT make an exception but you'd have to be pretty nice about it :) Haha so here it is!

Hope you like it! :)
